Why wasn’t the book of Genesis found along with the others?
(Question asked on our facebook page)
Ark Files reply:
Ron indeed found Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy but not the book of Genesis. These scrolls were in perfect condition even though they had been written on animal skins. The reason for this and why genesis wasn’t among them is probably one and the same.
The Ark of the Covenant was God’s throne on earth, that is why the atoning blood was brought to the Ark, it was a seat of justice. God’s law is the foundation for His throne and rule. Genesis is not a law-book but a history book. The others do contain God’s law, which is why they were placed on the side of the Ark and also why they hadn’t rotten. The Bible tells us God’s law has this quality, that it shall not be destroyed, not even a jot or tittle would see corruption by the passing of time: “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” (Mat 5:18).
