THE ARK AND THE FEAST DAYS

The Ark Of The Covenant is one of the most important items of one of the biblical feast days but what did all the symbols represent? Does the biblical laws and feast prophecy of the mission of the Messiah and give us a clue to why Jesus would leave earth after His resurrection and what His next mission was? Does it give a clue as to when He is finally coming back? And what does all of this have to do with the Ark?

  1. Hi, The only Problem with this teaching of the Aviv is that Yeshua stayed 3 days and 3 nights in the grave which means that that year it must have been a wednsday as he arose before the end, Sunset, of the 3rd day which was a shabbat.

    but still love your teaching!!

    • Hi, thank you for writing. It’s not that I am unaware of the Wednesday theory, I have been told of it quite often and have studied it. However, I don’t believe it is correct and have chosen this version because I don’t believe the other match up with the Biblical account. We are told Jesus arrives in Bethany a week before the feast of unleavened bread and every days is recorded. He gave a week before the feast of unleavened bread. The bible is clear about the sabbath and Jesus being crucified on the preparation day. The sabbath was a double sabbath in the sense that it was a holy day (first day of unleavened bread) and a weekly sabbath. The term used indicates this. Just like this coming Saturday is both Yom Teruah and Sabbath.
Another witness is Jesus raising on the feast of first fruit which always landed on the morning of Sunday if you follow the direction of the Torah, although jews are split in two concerning this question. However, the Karaite Jewish reckoning is the only that fit the Torah description. It had to land in the morning after the sabbath.

Here is an extract from Ron Wyatt’s newsletter back in the day regarding the three days and nights:
“MAT 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

If this phrase were to be taken literally, Christ would not have arisen on the third day, but on the fourth. Yet, we are told distinctly:

MAT 16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

The Hebrew idiom “three days and three nights” means simply “a period of time that covers parts of 3 days”. It may begin the last 5 hours of the 1st day, then include all 24 of the 2nd, and end after 4 hours into the 3rd day. But if we interpret it according to OUR manner of speaking today, we think it must mean 3 complete day cycles of 24 hours each. Yet, this is just how the Hebrews reckoned “days”.

In the time of Esther, we see the same “idiom” and it clearly does not include all 72 hours of “3 days and 3 nights”:

EST 4:16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

The literal interpretation of this above verse is that Esther, her maidens and all the Jews were to fast for 3 complete days and nights, or 72 hours, and THEN she would “go in unto the king”. Yet, we learn that she appeared before the king “on the third day” in chapter 5 verse 1. ANY time during the third day would be less than 72 hours and hence she and her maidens did NOT fast for 3 days and 3 nights.

These Biblical “figures of speech” are seen and understood from various sources- many times they can be understood in “context” or from numerous other Biblical passages on the same subject. Sometimes they are discerned from other non-Biblical documents from the same time period of the same region. In other cases, the language employed is figurative for a definite Divine purpose”

Another reason we know it’s not full night and days are when Jesus met the disciples on the road to Emmaus: “But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done” (Luk_24:21).
Now if you believe the full 3 day, 3 night theory this would have happened on the fourth day. Yet they themselves say that Sunday afternoon is the 3rd day since Jesus was crucified.

Notice again in the verse: “and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.”
If you go to the story of Jonah being in the belly of the beast you will notice how Jonah’s experience in that belly was very similar to Christ’s experience step by step. In the above quote, Jesus brings the “suffering” and treatment of the elders as part of the bad experience.
It’s a usual assumption that being in the belly of a whale and being in the grave is the same thing, however, Jonah was “trapped” in the whale. HE was trapped in a situation he could not get out of. Part of Christ’s experience was also being delivered to die. Christ brings His experience of anxiety and torture as part of it all.
Jonah’s first experience in the belly of the fish is this:
“And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
Likewise, Jesus cried out His affliction unto the Lord in the garden of Gethsemane and was heard and comforted by angels.
The same night he was captured.
      Jonah’s next experience is this:
“For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple” (Jon 2:3-4).
Likewise, Jesus was surrounded and captured, bullied, and tortured. In the Bible, the sea is a symbol of people (see Revelation). They gathered around the cross to mock Him. Jesus said like Jonah: “My Lord, My Lord why has thou forsaken me?” And just like Jonah spoke a word of faith after his cry so did Jesus when He by His words laid His life in God’s hands. “And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit” (Luk 23:46)
Jonah’s next experiences match Christ being laid in the grave and resurrected:
“I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God” (Jon 2:6).

And so Jonah’s experience isn’t a good image of Christ experience if you only place those three days and nights in the tomb at a time where Christ did not have anxiety, while He was no longer attacked or suffered.

If you count in the night Jesus was captured (Thursday night) then you get three nights. Then night to Friday and night to Sunday. Sunday then becomes the third day just like the apostles said.
Remember Christ was judged, in prison, and placed in the tomb all in the same mountain. He was captured on that mount that whole time, defenseless.
The Bible is VERY clear that Jesus rose on the first day of the week. “Now when Jesus rose early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils” (Mar_16:9). Mat 28:1 also says Jesus was resurrected before sunrise. This was not the sabbath as the sabbath day had ended at sunset the day before.

So I am not trying to change your mind, I don’t think it’s to big a matter if someone believes it either one way or another. If people chose to believe the other theory that is ok by me. I only wanted you to know that it wasn’t out of ignorance I chose to present it this way but because I believe this is how it happened. To explain that there are different theories and different ways to understand thise scriptural passages. Sometimes the limitations are in our preconceived ideas and not in the Scripture verse itself. Personally I need all Bible verses to fit together, fit with Biblical language and symbolism, and with the law.

I hope this clarified. Thank you for watching and visiting. God bless!

  2. Hi thank you very much for your explanation and surely will look into this for I do find it interesten and does Bring Some new light on the situation and I to am for truth and if my understanding is not enough I will joyfully change….for truth is always the goal.
I do have then one question as it does not come up in your theorie… is; where would you put that “after the Women had purchesed and prepared spices and ointments on the 6th day the resten on the Weekly Sabbath day. Or is the word “purchest” added? if that is so your theorie does kind of fit!

I will look beter into this but this is the small look had had into it.

    That you again for reacting

    • I am not sure if I understand you right. The word used seems to just mean they prepared them. If they had bought it on the sixth day there was no command against buying and selling that day.
      ἑτοιμάζω
      hetoimazō
      het-oy-mad’-zo
From G2092; to prepare: – prepare, provide, make ready. Compare G2680.

Luk 23:55  And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.
Luk 23:56  And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

Luk 24:1  Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

For me this is not really a very important issue. But this has been the most convincing to me.

  3. Hi In Mark 16:1 it says “When the Sabbath was over,……bought spices,…..and that would have been impossible I thought but I have been many times in Israel and after the Sabbath is over all the shops and restaurants open…..so probably it would have been possible for her to buy spices after the Sabbath……Thank you for this Conversation it has made me look diffrently at the test which is always a good thing!

be blessed and stay inspireer! Love watching your video’s they inspirie me to look up things too!
